+ Day 18: Short in Front, Long in Back

This refashion is my favorite SO far!! I love this look, short in the front and long in the back and very loose. I love how it is flattering and huge at the same time. You can also pair it with a belt, making it look less huge!
So, what I did….I cut the bottom half of the dress off and was left with a square. Then I cut the side seams (from the top) 4 to 5 inches making arm holes. Then I sewed the top front and back together, leaving an opening for the neckline and cut a little more from the front to make the neckline even bigger. Then I sewed a “7” shape the started at the bottom of the sleeve opening to the bottom of the shirt (reverse on the other side). This makes sleeves and more tightness around the chest while still keeping it flowy.

  1. Loooks awesome on you!! You have the perfect body type for that shirt!

  2. So cute, I love the drape. One definitely doesn’t have to stay with the original shape of a garment when re-fashioning. Everything just becomes piles of fabric, limitless.

  3. So cute but wish there was better instructions. :-(
