Lowering a neckline may be the the quickest and easiest fix to transforming a top into something more updated and flattering. I grabbed this cheap baseball tee (bought at most sporting good stores) and dropped the neckline. Love it!
baseball tee (or any tee)
ribbing (if you don’t have enough from the original top)
1. Cut out the ribbing. Trim the ribbing down a as wide as you like.
2. Line up the side seams or shoulder seams of the shirt and cut a little bit of the top of the shirt to make a wider neckline.
3. Stretch the ribbing out to see if it can fit around the neckline. If not, then a little more will need to be added (you can easily buy some at Jon anns). I added a little, but 90% of the time, I don’t have to. sew the ends of the ribbing together to make a long circle. Then pin right sides together, to the top. I only pinned the seam to the middle back of the top because I stretch the ribbing a lot as I sewed it around the newly cut neckline.
